Carin Beumer is a seasoned global board director and entrepreneur with a passion for driving innovation and positive impact in the life sciences and humanitarian sectors. As a Member of the Global Board of Selion Global and non-executive Board Director for various for-profit and non-profit organisations, Carin brings her expertise to bear on health and wellbeing, discovery, and purpose.
 With over 25 years of experience co-founding life science startups in biotech, ag-tech, and consumer health, Carin has developed a unique understanding of the intersection of business and social impact. Her board roles include Chair of the Board, Chair of the Governance Committee, and member of various committees, including Audit and Risk, Finance, Safeguarding, and Governance and nomination.
Carin's international humanitarian work spans the Global South, with a focus on fragile states, and her educational endeavours are centred in Switzerland. Before her entrepreneurial pursuits, Carin worked in investment banks in Amsterdam and London, specialising in project finance in developing countries.
A certified International Board Director (IDP-C, Insead 2019-2020), Carin holds degrees in Economics from the Free University in Amsterdam and a BSc from the Breda University of Applied Sciences. Her extensive global experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of diverse cultures and markets.
Carin is driven by a passion for discovering and developing solutions to significant global challenges, including climate change, anti-microbial resistance, and obesity. She believes that health, knowledge, and career opportunities are essential for human wellbeing. An avid reader and traveller, Carin enjoys long hikes, skiing, and swimming and is fluent in several languages.
